This week, March 10-13, 2009, the Honolulu Symphony takes its act on the road to Hawaii's Big Island. The Symphony will be presenting g a series of education and community concerts for audiences in Hilo and Kona. In this time of economic uncertainty, the Symphony hopes the trip will inspire and soothe the hearts of their neighbor island friends. Small groups arrived early on Tuesday and performed for local elementary school students. In addition, the group will present concerts for the general public at 3 locations around the Island:
- March 13, 2009, 7:30 PM, William Charles Lunalilo Center, Kea'au/Hilo
- March 14, 2009, 7 PM, Kalihu Theater, Kamuela/Waimea
- March 15, 2009, 7 PM, Kinawaena High School Gymnasium, Kona
